OASIS Program

OASIS Adult Day Program

OASIS is an adult day care program for seniors. We are dedicated to create an interesting and stimulating environment with social interaction in our senior day care center.

OASIS is an adult day care program with opportunities and activities for seniors to have a secure social environment and the ability to participate in meaningful and engaging activities during the day. While providing our participants with a safe and supportive environment, we offer rich and stimulating activities that encourage friendships, social interaction and offer a sense of purpose.  With a ratio of one staff member for every four participants, we have the ability to accommodate personal care needs as well as offer individualized activities in small group settings.

Looking for an adult day care center for a senior in the early stages of dementia or Alzheimer’s? Our PALS Adult Day Program is a better fit for seniors who may be experiencing few difficulties. Click HERE for more information.

Caregiver Support

OASIS provides caregivers with a peace of mind and much needed time to relieve stress and burnout while their loved one attends the program. Additionally, our extended hours give caregivers the opportunity to continue to work full time while still providing care for their loved one in their home. Our goal is not only to provide supportive care for the participant, but also to support the caregiver through the challenges of caring for an aging loved one.

OASIS program features:

  • OASIS is a licensed community care facility. (License #107204039)
  • Open Monday – Friday, 7:30am- 5:30pm.
  • Innovative Dementia or Alzheimer’s activities.
  • Morning and afternoon snacks.
  • Affordable, full hot lunch.
  • Opportunities to create new friendships and increase self-esteem.
  • Hourly rates starting with a 3-hour minimum.
  • Flexible schedules.
  • Limited financial assistance is available.
  • Monthly caregiver support groups.

Program Cost

  • Financial assistance is available through private donations and grant funding through the Fresno-Madera Area Agency on Aging.
  • Flexible attendance options to fit in most budgets.
  • Medical/health insurance will not cover the cost of this program. (Some long-term care insurance may help; check your policy.)

How to Explain OASIS and Adult Day Care to Your Senior Loved One

You may find that your loved one is not initially convinced about the benefits of coming to OASIS. We have often found that if someone attends for a few weeks, they begin to greatly enjoy the benefits and look forward to their time in our adult day care center. Here are some tips to help you explain senior day care and explain OASIS to them:

  1. Fun, fellowship and good food! Highlight the social aspects and downplay the care aspects of the center. OASIS can be described as a senior center or a coffee club.
  2. Discuss the productive aspects of the center: volunteering, helping others and working on community service projects.
  3. Have the doctor suggest the use of the center and ask the doctor to write an order or prescription for the program.
